LIEBHERR has announced an expansion of its latest generation of luffing jib cranes to the 600-metre tonne segment.
The new 620 HC-L 18/36 has been designed to meet the demands of construction sites with more challenging requirements. The model boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 18 tonnes in one-fall operation, and up to 36 tonnes in two-fall operation, as well as a jib length of 65 metres.
Thanks to its new Load-Plus function, Liebherr explained lifting capacity can be increased by up to 76% for specific load charts.
Due to its compatibility with the 24 HC 630 tower system, the 620 HC-L can achieve a freestanding height of up to 74.3 metres. The new crane’s little brother – the 440 HC-L – also uses the same tower system, meaning that both HC-L cranes can be assembled using the same tower sections.
With an out of service position of just 12 metres and a minimal operating position of just 4.1 metres, Liebherr added that the 620 HC-L requires very little space. This makes it suited for inner-city sites and projects where limited space is available.
