Star turn: powered access specialist marks charity milestone

Star Platforms charity milestone

POWERED access specialist Star Platforms has announced it has surpassed £84,000 in charitable donations since the company was founded.

In 2024 alone, the business has donated £5,000, reflecting its commitment to giving back through the ‘WE RISE’ initiative and other projects.

Since 2020, Star Platforms’ ‘WE RISE’ initiative has been a cornerstone of its charitable giving. The company was awarded an SJ3219 DC scissor lift as part of Skyjack’s charitable recognition campaign and pledged to donate all proceeds from its hire to various charities.

To date, the initiative has raised over £11,000, benefiting 16 charities, including The Hospice of St Francis, The Alzheimer’s Association, Emily’s Star, CRASH, Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, Wildlife Aid, MacMillan, Horizon Andy’s Club, Prostate Cancer UK, TeamJed, iCARP, British Heart Foundation, Keech Hospice, Forever Stars, Gaddesden Place Riding School, and Midshire’s Search and Rescue.

Most recently, the company has supported AFC Dunstable by providing funding for team kits and operational support to promote grassroots football and strengthen community engagement. It has also partnered with a customer to provide essential items, including food, tea, coffee, and toiletries, to families in need through the Great Ormond Street Hospital Food Bank.

MD Richard Miller said, “Reaching £84,000 in donations is a proud moment for us. It reflects the dedication of our team and the generosity of our customers, who have supported initiatives like ‘WE RISE.’ This year’s projects have been particularly meaningful, and we’re looking forward to supporting even more worthy causes throughout 2025.”

Bryan Freeman, sales director, Star Platforms, added, “Customers can continue to support this initiative by hiring the SJ3219 DC scissor lift, which provides a working height of 7.80m – perfect for indoor projects. By choosing the ‘WE RISE’ machine, customers not only meet their operational needs, but also contribute to meaningful charitable causes.”
