A Sarens crane has been used to help install a heat pump on the roof of Warmworks’ office in Leith.
The lift formed part of a project designed to make Warmworks one of the first organisations in Leith to make its office space an entirely net zero working environment.
Since launching in 2015, Warmworks has helped tackle fuel poverty across the UK by helping people be ‘warmer, happier, and healthier’ through the installation of energy efficiency improvements. The organisation is now leading by example by eliminating all fossil fuels from its office building at Carmichael Place after installing heat pump and solar PV technology.
The new system is also said to have improved staff comfort levels by offering greater control over how spaces are heated. The project has demonstrated how such a system can be installed in a leased building, shared with three other tenants, with ‘minimal disruption’ to daily operations.
