MELBOURNE-headquartered Equipment Safety Systems (EQSS) has continued to expand access to its OverWatch scissor lift secondary guarding solution, including the launch of its first international branch in the UK.
Opened earlier this year near London, the branch provides EQSS with a permanent presence in this market and has appointed Tahir Dad as the first member of its dedicated UK-based team.
Tahir, in his capacity as UK technical sales & service manager, has been engaging with contractors, rental companies, OEMs and safety bodies to introduce and support the roll-out of OverWatch. To date, there are close to 1,000 scissor lifts in the UK fitted with OverWatch.
Andrew Delahunt, global business manager at EQSS, said, “Tahir is an outstanding person, and we are thrilled that he is leading our charge in the UK. Stopping accidents on MEWPs is the goal and crush protection on scissor lifts is an important part of that package. We are delighted with the progress to date and how receptive the U.K. market has been towards our solution.”
Tahir is supported by James Samuel, UK business representative, who is helping EQSS to identify and connect with potential customers.
EQSS has invested in a UK office and warehouse to stock OverWatch devices and offers installation services.
Based in Luton, Tahir was previously a technical engineer at Nationwide Platforms within the BlueSky Solutions division. He has more than 20 years’ mechanical and electrical engineering experience and has worked with MEWPs and secondary guarding solutions for the past seven years.
Ross Bowden, MD of EQSS, added, “We are delighted to expand with our first branch outside of Australia. This investment reinforces our support for our valued customers in the U.K. With the large amount of inventory that we now carry in our warehouse, we can now supply OverWatch kits locally, significantly reducing delivery times, and provide local servicing and site support.”
Tahir said, “I am extremely excited to be part of the EQSS UK journey. I have a passion for safety and innovation, and through the introduction of EQSS’s high tech solutions, we are helping to keep British workers safe.”
