ORGANISERS of the Scottish Plant Operator Challenge (SPOC) 2024 have announced a major sponsorship deal with manufacturer Milwaukee and Scottish authorised distributor for the brand, Highland Industrial Supplies (H.I.S).
The sponsorship package will provide all competitors in the event, which takes place on July 27, with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clothing. The organisers of the SPOC 2024 will also be kitted out for the event and H.I.S will gift power tools, worth thousands of pounds, to operators who finish in the top three.
Callum Mackintosh, promoter for the Scottish Plant Operator Challenge, said, “We are absolutely thrilled that Milwaukee and H.I.S are getting behind the Scottish Plant Operator Challenge with such an amazing package. Having PPE and clothing for everyone involved in the competition either as a competitor or as part of the organising team is absolutely incredible. Milwaukee power tools are on everyone’s wish list in the industry so to have these as prizes really is the icing on the cake.”
Milwaukee is a manufacturer of heavy-duty power tools, accessories, outdoor power equipment, hand tools, storage and PPE for professional users worldwide. Paul Van Den Heuvel, national sales manager, commented, “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to give something back to the professionals in the industry who put our tools to work day in, day out. We’re really looking forward to the event later this month where our demo vans will be demonstrating on behalf of H.I.S, a full range of Milwaukee tools.”
Highland Industrial Supplies (H.I.S) has seven depots across Scotland supplying trade and retail customers alike. Powertool and welding manager, Ross McEwan stated, “At H.I.S we have many customers across Scotland in the plant and civils sectors and Milwaukee is a top selling and much sought after brand that we are proud to stock. Our new Milwaukee SuperCentre, which recently opened in Inverness, has proven to be a big hit and we are delighted to join forces with Milwaukee and be part of this national competition, now in its second year, to find Scottish Plant Operator Challenge Champion 2024. We are looking forward to a great weekend in Errol later this month.”
Taking place at Errol Airfield on the 27th of July, the Scottish Plant Operator Challenge will see 44 contenders undertake eight tough challenges for the chance to be crowned Scotland’s Best Operator and win a share of the £10,500 prize pot.
