New Cat grading beams aim to deliver ‘dynamic and efficient’ outcomes

CATERPILLAR has announced the launch of new grading beams for the manufacturer’s tiltrotators.

Designed to allow contractors to take on ‘dynamic and efficient’ grading and compaction work, pairing with Cat tiltrotators enables 360˚ bi-directional and 40˚ left-and-right rotation of the grading beam to increase attachment versatility.

The beams’ mechanically adjustable roller – from 10mm below frame to 20mm above – tailors the desired level of compaction based on material type. Preventing material from sticking to the roller, Cat added that the adjustable roller scraper allows the attachment to be used with clay, silt and other sticky materials.

Available in five widths from 1,250 to 3,000mm, Hardox 500 wear protection at the bottom of the beams protects the frame. The beam’s welded frame is intended to increase structural rigidity, while additional support plates on the heavy-duty frame extend beam strength.
