KIRKCALDY-based Johnston Rigging Fife has taken delivery of an LTM 1040-2.1, marking the tenth Liebherr unit purchased since the company was formed in 2001.

The twin-axle crane arrived ahead of ScotPlant 2024, where it was featured prominently on the Johnston Rigging stand to showcase the machine’s new livery.

The 40-tonne crane boasts a four-section 35 metre main boom which can handle 7.4 tonnes at full extension or take 1.1 tonnes out to its maximum radius of 31 metres. The crane has a lifting height of 44 metres and a lifting radius of 39 metres.

Director Guy Johnston said, “We are delighted to take delivery of our tenth Liebherr crane marking a significant milestone for our business. We operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and therefore, we must ensure we operate a reliable kit and that’s why we’ve stuck by Liebherr over the years.”

Johnston Rigging Fife provides a range of services including structural steel erecting, mobile crane hire, and mechanical installation.
