Hire specialist launches Nature Positive Roadmap 2030

SPEEDY Hire has marked World Environment Day by unveiling its Nature Positive Roadmap 2030.

The firm launched its strategy for reaching net zero by 2040 in 2022 and said it recognises the ‘critical importance’ of nature for economies and societies to thrive, and the part businesses can play for a nature positive future.

Speedy Hire added that it plans to work with its value chain to make a difference to the environment and create more places for nature to thrive.

By launching the Nature Positive Roadmap, the company aims to take action to enhance nature as part of its day-to-day activities, and share those learnings with others to help create a step change across the industry.

Speaking at Speedy Hire Live Expo 24, Dr Julia Baker, nature services lead at Mott MacDonald and Speedy Hire’s ESG director, Amelia Woodley discussed how the industry must play its part in fighting climate change not only through decarbonisation, but also working towards a nature positive future.

Dr Baker said, “Speedy Hire’s Nature Positive 2030 Roadmap is a significant milestone for both nature and the industry. Mott MacDonald’s work on this project has been as part of a very successful partnership with Speedy Hire driven by collaboration and innovation to deliver a strategically important initiative.”

Amelia Woodley added, “I’m extremely proud of our Nature Positive 2030 Roadmap and how Speedy Hire is leading the way for nature. We’re moving from considering nature on our sites to thinking about enhancing nature throughout our value chain. Nature positive is not only a step change, it’s essential.”
