Scotia Survey and Safety looks for repeat of ScotPlant success

SCOTIA Survey and Safety is gearing up to launch international innovation at ScotPlant as it looks for a repeat of its success at the 2022 event – which the firm revealed it is still receiving business from to this day!

The independent survey and safety supplier was founded in 2020 by three experienced construction professionals to offer the sale, hire, and repair of construction equipment.

Scotia is preparing to launch a host of new plant innovations at ScotPlant – and with an excavator on the stand, visitors will be able to try the kit out first-hand.

One of the launches already attracting interest is the AVA anti-collision system. Scotia has teamed up with Czech company, Avaltar, to bring the system to the plant world, having already been used to great success on forklifts. The solution uses AI tech and various cameras to identify and alert operators to potential hazards by highlighting them on a video screen.

The system has the ability to slow down or completely stop machines if necessary.

Also being debuted is a new proximity alert system, which Scotia has partnered with technology company Zonr to launch. The system alerts operators if anyone has stepped into a pre-set zone.

ScotPlant visitors will also have a chance to trial the new SPARK facial recognition system for site entry and the iDig bluetooth machinery control system, which allows users to manage distance, depths, and desired slopes.

“We are really excited about ScotPlant 2024. We had great success on the back of the 2022 show,” Mark Taylor, director at Scotia Survey and Safety, explained. “ScotPlant is the big date in our calendar and the previous show was incredible for us, especially as a fairly new company at the time. It gave us the platform to reach new customers and markets and showcase to them who we are and what we can offer.”

Mark said he and the team are looking forward to using their expertise and experience to help companies find the right solution for their needs.

“The fact we’re independent is something we really thrive on,” he added. “It’s three friends that started the company and we’re passionate about what we do and our customer care.”
