THE new JCB 370X – the largest model in the X Series range of tracked excavators – will be shown for the first time in Scotland at ScotPlant 2024.
The machine is powered by a Cummins L9 diesel engine, which is certified as EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 Final-compliant. JCB said the 8.9-litre, six-cylinder, engine boasts a 14% power increase over the outgoing JS370, with 240kW (322hp) available at just 1,700rpm. The engine delivers this maximum power within a reduced operating rev range, to increase fuel economy and reduce overall noise levels.
A Kawasaki tandem hydraulic pump operates with an increased 350 bar pressure, rising to 380 bar during power boost cycles.
A heavier counterweight contributes to added stability, while larger structures cope with the additional forces. Increased service pipework diameters and raised hydraulic pressures result in more power at the dig end, which has been redesigned with cast boom foot and hydraulic ram pivot points for additional strength and longevity.
The 370X is supplied with a 6.45m mono boom, with a choice of 2.63m, 3.23m and 4.03m dippers. Optional heavy-duty dippers have additional crush bars and reinforcement to cope with arduous applications. Bucket pin diameter has been increased and the machine can be fitted with a new JCB dual pin quick hitch, to pick up 90mm or 100mm attachments. There are also new 2.1m3 XHD and 2.43m3 XHD buckets available, plus JCB will offer a new HM330T hydraulic breaker specifically for the 370X.
The 370X comes with the JCB Command Plus ROPS cab featuring a heated air suspension seat and a reduced 69dB in-cab noise level.
A new 10” touchscreen monitor with new user interface called JCB UX is also included, while the switch panel incorporates more customisable hot keys, allowing further personalisation. Climate control, a radio with DAB option, keyless start and twin cameras for added visibility are all standard.
The 370X has extended service intervals, with hydraulic intervals doubled to 2,000 hours. Engine coolant service in now required at 3,000 hours, while the air filter element intervals are extended up to 2,000 hours. The machine has three work modes, while Auto-stop and Auto-Idle engine functions are also standard, to reduce fuel consumption during idling.
The 370X is available with a range of options including auxiliary hydraulic circuits with up to 15 attachment settings and a premium heated and cooled operator’s seat. LED lights are now standard, with options available to increase to up to 14 LED work lights. The machine can also be offered with the JCB 2D and 3D-ready INTELLIGRADE system. A bird’s eye 360° camera system, integrated within the 10” display, can also be offered, along with all-round handrails.
The 370X follows the styling and design first seen on smaller X-Series JCB excavators, with double-skinned steel service doors and tube-in-tube bolt-on handrails.

Other highlights on the Scot JCB stand at ScotPlant will include the new 2-5-tonne 25Z and 26C mini-diggers.
The 25Z-1 is a zero tail-swing model that replaces the 8025 ZTS, while the 26C-1 is a conventional counterweight replacement for the 8026 CTS.
The 25Z-1 tips the scales at 2,550kg, while the 26C-1 weighs in at 2,675kg. With an overall width of just 1,500mm, JCB revealed the machines can easily be moved between job sites.
The mini-excavators share the design and styling of JCB’s larger 3.5-tonne Next Generation models, with ‘sturdy’ pressed steel bodywork and a cast counterweight. The two models have the same cab structure, which benefits from flat glass and steel panels, while the door locks back within the profile of the counterweight, to prevent any risk of damage when rotating.
There is a ROPS/TOPS cab, with a heater or optional air conditioning, while a canopy is available if preferred.
The machines feature a premium suspension seat, an ergonomic membrane switch layout, a 4” digital multi-function screen, and a rotary controller.
Both mini-excavators are supplied with an EU Stage V/ Tier 4 Final-compliant Kohler diesel engine, that develops 18.4kW (24.7hp).
Despite their compact dimensions, the 25Z-1 has a maximum digging depth of 2,824mm, while the conventional tailswing 26C-1 offers up to 3,037mm of excavating capability.
Scot JCB will also be hosting an operator challenge with a potential trip to Las Vegas up for grabs. ScotPlant is one of seven regional heats taking place across the country ahead of the final at the JCB Quarry in June.
