Speedy goes for gold in sustainability

SPEEDY Hire has been awarded a gold medal by EcoVadis, which puts the firm in the top 5% of sustainable businesses globally and improves on the company’s previous silver rating.

Having become the first company in the hire sector to have its net zero targets validated by the science-based target initiative (SBTi), Speedy Hire was also recognised by the Financial Times as a European ‘Climate Leader’ this year.

As part of its ‘Decade to Deliver’ ESG strategy, Speedy has set targets to reach net zero emissions by 2040, ten years ahead of the government deadline.

Amelia Woodley, ESG director at Speedy Hire, said, “At Speedy Hire we place sustainability at the centre of everything that we do. The EcoVadis gold medal prestigious award is testament to our legitimate credentials as a sustainability leader driven by innovation and is further validation that our ambitious Decade to Deliver ESG strategy is effective and measurable.”
