Tree shear products are a cut above

MANUFACTURER Echotec is targeting further growth in Scotland with its range of tree shears for the construction, forestry, and agricultural sectors.

Echotec, headquartered in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, was established by Gary Hall in 2019 and its products are sold in nine depots throughout the UK and Ireland – with plans to significantly extend this well underway.

The Attachment Company offers the products in Scotland. The Echotec line-up includes the 250, 300, 350 and Saw Grapple series, which have various options within each. All attachments are manufactured from SSAB Hardox and Strenx.

The latest addition to the portfolio is the Super Shear saw grapple. Part of the 350 Series, Gary said the combined shear and saw attachment was ‘what customers were looking for’.

The company also offers bespoke design to meet specific requirements. Gary told Project Plant how the business has grown from a small operation to the point where products are being sold into markets as far afield as Pakistan, Germany, France, and Latvia. A new website has been recently added support the next stage in the company’s growth: www.echotec.co.uk

“It is a competitive market, but I know I’ve got quality products,” Gary said. “We’ve developed the business over the past few years. I’ve built the business around customer feedback as well as undertaking my own extensive testing and R&D to achieve the best attachments for our customers.

“Scotland would be ideal (for the products) due to the tree coverage and forestry industry. I’ve got plans to attend events in Scotland next year, including ScotPlant as well as a couple of others.”

Gary revealed he would be interested in speaking to other companies interested in joining the Echotec distributor network.
