Develon in double material handler launch

DEVELON has launched the new 24-tonne DX230WMH-7 and 25.6-tonne DX250WMH-7 Stage V-compliant material handlers.

Both models are designed to carry out tasks across a range of material sorting and handling applications such as those in the handling of scrap metal and other solid waste, recycling, demolition, and forestry.

As a result, both machines are built with front and rear stabilizers, and a boom and arm specifically designed for material handling tasks.

These new material handlers are equipped with a Develon six-cylinder, turbocharged DL06V water-cooled diesel engine, providing an output of 141 kW (189 HP) at 1900 RPM. Develon explained the engine has ‘extremely low emissions’ as exhaust gases are purified by Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

A standard feature is the hydraulic cab riser, which aims to give operators better all-around visibility of the attachment and work area.

The material handlers come with ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel. The machines feature two-way auxiliary and rotate circuit hydraulics. Operators can use buttons on the joysticks or an optional foot pedal to control auxiliary attachments.

A Develon-developed system, Smart Power Control (SPC), is said to improve efficiency while maintaining productivity through variable speed control and pump torque control, automatically adjusting RPMs according to the load being handled.

The SPC can be used with all four work modes: Power+, Power, Standard, and Economy.

The new material handlers also include a lifting work mode, which provides increased pump torque, low engine RPM and an automatic power boost.

Customers can also select the front type set up they want, with a choice between straight arm and gooseneck arm configurations, depending on the application and preference. The DX230WMH-7 has been designed for standard loads, whilst the DX250WMH-7 includes a longer front and an additional 1.2 tonne counterweight.

In the cab, there is a new Develon eight-inch Smart Touch screen, which displays a video feed from the standard rear-view camera and/or an optional side view camera. A split screen mode displays the rear view camera and machine information at the same time.

Both models are equipped with the Develon Fleet Management TMS 3.0 Cellular system installed as standard. The telematics provides location information and a range of machine operational information.
