Attachments are no longer a ‘side note’ in fleets

MURRAY Plant has revealed that ‘long gone’ are the days when attachments were considered a side note within equipment fleets, with today’s solutions playing an increasingly key role on construction sites.

Since relocating to new premises and workshops in Stirling, Murray Plant says it has focused on development and investment in stockholding and engineering facilities.

Originally known for a 30-year representation of the Rammer brand of hydraulic breakers in Scotland, Murray’s current portfolio of products distributed and serviced from its HQ include Rammer breakers as well as Fortress scrap shears, OilQuick automatic couplers, Steelwrist tiltrotators, Xcentric crusher buckets, Allu screening and processing buckets, and VTN demolition tools and grabs.

In Scotland, sales are managed by MD Fergal O’Neill and sales manager for Scotland, Ryan McLaren. Ryan said, “Over the past few years we have developed and added to our range of attachments that we supply all over Scotland to our customers. Our focus has always been on the supply of only quality market-leading kit and providing a service and backup that complements the world-leading brands. With our new state-of-the-art facilities in Stirling, we encourage our customers to pop in for a visit when passing and see first-hand the stock, the attachments, and the focus that we have in supporting customers after delivery.”

Fergal O’Neill added, “We have seen many subliminal changes in the attachments sector over the past few years. We live in a new world on fuel and costings of materials, etc. Customers are now exploring all angles in which to maximise the efficiency of jobs.

“Along with our traditional core of Rammer hammers we have seen increased demand in the use of site won materials using ALLU processing buckets in conjunction with Xcentric crushing buckets. This is for customers running machines from eight tonnes and upwards. The addition of Steelwrist to our range has also been a success. For our demolition customers we are definitely seeing a drive towards the use of OilQuick in order to maximise the efficiency of machines to complete jobs safely and on time.

“Long gone are the days when attachments were a side note on customers’ businesses; having the correct attachment for the job can be critical and have a huge impact on time and margin.

“We are immensely proud of our facility and encourage customers to pop in and meet our team. Nothing for us is more satisfying than having a chat with customers, understanding their business, and exploring ways in which their bottom line can be boosted. That is ultimately what really makes it all worthwhile.”
