AMPS Awards for Excellence winners revealed

THE winners of the AMPS Awards for Excellence have been announced at a ceremony held at the Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

The Apprentice of the Year accolade went to Hannah Magowan from Dale Power Solutions. Her journey was said to include academic excellence, advocacy for Women in Engineering, and significant contributions to innovative projects like the Thyristor-based control board and the DC alarm unit. Hannah’s leadership as a new product development lead engineer, particularly in sustainable battery energy storage, was described as exemplifying the spirit of the award.

The Member Company of the Year prize went to IPU for its ‘longstanding industry relationship, innovative contributions, and extensive educational efforts’.

WB Power Services took home the Innovation and Technology Award for its WB e-Pod, a scalable standby power solution combining adaptability and sustainability. The product is said to have ‘revolutionised’ standby power solutions.

The Environmental Product of the Year was confirmed as the Atlas Copco ZBC 250/500 Battery Storage Unit, recognised for its sustainable approach to power generation.

The Project of the Year prize was shared by Generator Power (for its technical ingenuity in the Gloucester Hospital NHS Trust project, ensuring uninterrupted power during critical upgrades) and Eminox (for its Sunbelt Energy Farm project, a sustainable construction effort on Europe’s largest rail infrastructure project).

Wakefield Acoustics took the Business Growth and Strategy Award for its response to pandemic challenges and growth, especially in power generation and data centres.

Prolectric triumphed in the Energy and Sustainability category for its all-encompassing approach to sustainability, reducing emissions while saving costs for clients.

AMPS (Association of Manufacturers and suppliers of Power generating Systems) director general David Oates said, “Thank you all for joining us at this splendid occasion. It was truly a magnificent night, filled with the spirit of innovation and excellence.”
