HRN and Hill team up to launch new Kubota mini-excavator in Scotland

KUBOTA’S new eight-tonne mini-excavator, the KX085-5, has debuted in Scotland, complete with a Tefra quick hitch from Hill Engineering.

The mono-boom KX085-5 has been supplied to Jarvie Plant Hire by HRN Tractors. HRN showcased the model in Jarvie’s livery at the Black Isle Show this year.

Powered by a Kubota-built engine, the KX085-5 is said to boast a ‘robust’ hydraulic system. The machine utilises an auto idling system that will automatically reduce the engine RPM to idling speed when the control levers are left in neutral for longer than four seconds. An Engine Auto Stop system comes as standard that will automatically turn off the engine when an adjustable idling time has passed.

The =newly designed cab offers a wider entrance and double adjustable air suspension seat.

Jarvie has been using Hill’s Tefra coupler since 2014, and HRN has fitted its own portfolio of five and eight-tonne Kubota excavators with the quick hitch since January 2021, purchasing almost 200 of the attachments since then.

HRN key account manager Andy Wilson said, “We like Hill’s Tefra hitches for many reasons – there are only five moving parts so that immediately minimises the risk of something going wrong, there is a ball valve for safety, a spring back up for safety, and the hydraulic ram has a sheath for protection.”
