New logistics centre boosts Manitou’s growth plans in India

MANITOU Group has inaugurated a new spare parts logistics centre in Greater Noida, India.

The facility is said to meet the group’s ambitions to develop its production and distribution activities in this region over the coming years.

Located on the outskirts of New Delhi, the new logistics hub is designed to support growth in this high-potential market. The spare parts stocked in the warehouse will be dedicated to the maintenance of machines manufactured at Manitou’s Indian plant, also located in Greater Noida. They will be shipped mainly to Asia, but also to South America and Africa, where Indian-made compact track loaders, telehandlers and backhoe loaders are distributed.

The centre has quadrupled in size to over 8,300 m², enabling Manitou to ship 90,000 order lines a year at maximum capacity. To ensure this daily quality of service, 40 employees will work in shifts.

Pierre-Yves Malgogne, VP of the spare parts business unit, said, “This new logistics centre will enable us to continue improving the service we provide to our customers in this region, where the group has great ambitions. This warehouse will also benefit from the process and flow management standards already in place in our other logistics centres, to optimise the safety of our employees and carriers.”
