SCG looks to add value with latest partnership

AIRDRIE-headquartered SCG Supplies has announced a new cooperation agreement with Irish Manufacturing Services (IMS).

The range produced by IMS augments SCG’s existing distribution agreements with both Portafill and Bruce Engineering.

SCG co-director Paul Thorne told Project Plant of his excitement about the new opportunity.

“With Bruce Engineering we have washing and feeding, such as the WashPod and electro-magnetic feeding range which gives us inter-sector engagement across quarrying and heavy side recycling.

“Portafill provide us with an undoubtedly world-renowned range of compact and mid-range screening and crushing solutions. Their machines can tackle many higher productivity applications but also transport and deploy with such ease that they are squarely aimed at the contracting industry, should it be site clearance or demolition.”

Paul made it clear how IMS furthers SCG’s offering to the Scottish recycled aggregates and minerals extraction sector.

“We’d been looking for a mobile feeding and conveying partner for some time so on my last trip to Ireland, I thought I’d call by. Despite my unannounced arrival, Paddy and Joe were more than welcoming and gave a guided tour of their impressive premises. In that short exchange it became obvious to me that IMS were seeking to innovate solutions which add value to quarried and recycled products by blending, dosing and mixing.”

Meanwhile, SCG, which is also Official Scottish DEUTZ engines and parts distributor, said customers should keep their eyes peeled for a new, more interactive website being launched.

MD Stephen Grieve explained, “We’ve revamped our website several times before and probably like most businesses, we didn’t feel it hit the spot. This time we want help customers, wherever they are, to be able to complete their decision-making process prior to ordering with us. A more intuitive and interactive process all round.”
