GAP Group stalwart Ken Stewart has called time on his long and distinguished career in the hire industry after announcing his retirement.

As group procurement manager, Ken has led GAP’s involvement in a number of major deals with providers of unmanned plant, including Kubota who recently presented him with an award and gift to acknowledge his retirement and thank him for his passion and commitment to the brand.

GAP has maintained a relationship with Kubota for more than 20 years, boasting a mini-excavator fleet that consists of its micro machines right the way through to the 8-tonne midi model.

Ken steps down from his role after 21 years with GAP, first joining the business in 2002. Prior to this, he held a series of roles across the electronics and technological sectors.

“I’ve had a fantastic time with GAP and can think of no better business to end my career on a high with,” Ken said. “I was with GAP for 21 years, staying with the team because of the breadth and scope of the role, which saw me deal with suppliers of all sizes, with Kubota being our biggest supplier by far.”

Fenella Tolhurst, key accounts sales manager at Kubota UK, added, “It’s been a pleasure working with Ken through our partnership with GAP. The on-going success of Gap Group is testament to the hard work and dedication of Ken and his team and everyone at Kubota UK wishes him well for the future.”
