DEVELON, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, has announced plans to sponsor its first major sporting event in the UK since the brand was launched earlier this year.
The manufacturer is sponsoring the International Challenge Football Match between Wales and South Korea at the Cardiff City Stadium Thursday September 7.
Develon, a brand of HD Hyundai Infracore, will be one of the major sponsors of the event, providing hospitality for dealers and customers, supported by several advertising and promotional campaigns and a display of new machines outside the stadium entrance .
To mark the event, a contingent of senior executives from HD Hyundai Infracore in South Korea will attend the match, including CEO Seung-Hyun Oh and other senior management.
The sponsorship links two major elements of the Develon operation – the company’s HQ and manufacturing facilities in South Korea and the UK parts distribution centre, which has been in Cardiff since 1996.
Mr Oh said, “We are very excited about sponsoring the match in Cardiff. Cardiff was the place where most of the initial drawings for our large excavators, wheel loaders and wheeled excavators were created in the early 1990s, making it a location of significant importance in terms of technological development. As an engineer who was involved in that process at the time, this sponsorship feels even more meaningful to me.
“The event will prove to be a great occasion to mark the coming together of two countries in both sport and business! Our presence also demonstrates that our core values as Develon are even stronger than before, with our dedication to changing the future for customers and providing value beyond our products, through endless product and technological innovation.”
