Takeuchi set to dig deep for construction charity

TAKEUCHI will be raising funds for the construction charity the Lighthouse Club over the course of three days at Plantworx 2023.

As part of the Takeuchi Time Challenge, both participants and spectators will be asked to dig deep and donate to the charity.

The Time Challenge will be a chance for visitors to try out the very first Takeuchi electric excavator: the new TB20e. The battery-powered mini-excavator is the latest innovation in the manufacturer’s line-up and the first Takeuchi digger to feature electro-hydraulic controls.

Built with the same all-steel construction, heavy duty boom and retractable under carriage, the mini-excavator is said to match the performance of its diesel equivalent. With a full charge, the 24.7kWh lithium-ion battery provides up to eight hours of operating time at 65% load.

The TB20e features an on-board charger with two options: charge static or whilst operating. An additional off-board fast charger is available, reducing charge time to two hours. The machine is described as ideal for applications in noise-sensitive areas such as schools or hospitals.

The Takeuchi Time competition will be hosted by 2021 UK plant operator winner Dave Vickers. The challenge tests operators’ skills and speed.
