SCOTTISH articulated hauler manufacturer Volvo CE Haulers is recruiting close to 100 industrial and office-based roles.
The Motherwell-based company designs and builds Rokbak heavy-duty dump trucks used to transport loads in a variety of industries from construction to quarries.
The site has been manufacturing off-road trucks since 1950. Now, thanks to increased global demand for its products, the company is looking to strengthen its team with a variety of positions available including: assemblers, painters, welders, platers, CNC machinists, final assemblers, maintenance fitter, maintenance electrician, technical writer, HSE advisor, manufacturing engineer, quality engineer and buyer. Both permanent and temporary positions are available.
“After becoming part of the Volvo Group, we’ve benefited from tens of millions of pounds of investment in our products, facilities and people,” said Paul Douglas, Motherwell native and Rokbak’s MD. “It was clear we needed to rebrand to highlight the huge improvements that we’ve made to our products – the RA30 and RA40 – as well as the entire business.
“The new Rokbak brand is a big success, and that’s thanks to all our employees. We are seeing huge demand for our products, so we are now back recruiting a variety of jobs from entry-level to experienced positions across the business.
“This is great news for our company but also for the local community. It has been a tough few years for everyone with Covid and the current UK economic crisis, so it means a lot that we have been able to hire, and continue to hire, to help hardworking and enthusiastic people join our team.”
Team members enjoy benefits such as hybrid and four-day working weeks, which were implemented following employee feedback.
“At Rokbak we really value our employees and things like our four-day working week and hybrid working enhance peoples’ work-life balance and bring positive results for health and wellbeing,” Paul added. “We have a significant focus on health and safety, employee wellbeing and mental health, with 18 trained on-site mental health first aiders providing regular ‘health MOTs’ for employees. We have also partnered with Headtorch – experts in workplace mental health.
“We have over 70 years of heritage in Motherwell and all the skills, knowledge and experience that comes with that. Many of our highly-skilled team have worked with us for decades – like their parents and even grandparents before them. This is a great company to work for, we are proud to be a local employer of choice and a human-centric company.”
The company also offers a variety of apprenticeship programmes, for both prospective and current employees, allowing them to achieve SVQs, HNCs, and HNDs while learning their trade and earning money, as well as degree level qualifications with Rokbak’s graduate apprenticeship scheme. Applications for this year’s apprentice programme are now open.
