FALKIRK-based Horizon Reinforcing and Crane Hire has marked its 50th anniversary by adding a 110t capacity Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 to its fleet.

The firm has snapped up the crane complete with a special logo highlighting the landmark 50 years.

Horizon runs a fleet of cranes from 25 to 300-tonnes, comprised of all-terrain, city, truck-mounted and self-erecting models. Among them are Liebherr 60t machines and an MK 88 self-erecting tower option.

Director Stewart Dougall said, “Liebherr is recognised as the market leader in the crane industry and the LTM 1110-5.1 has class-leading specifications. It is the perfect five-axle crane to celebrate five decades in business.”

Horizon Reinforcing was founded in 1973 by William Dougall, originally as a steel reinforcing company. The business added the crane rental service to its portfolio in 1986.

William’s son Steven joined the firm after leaving school and now owns the business, working alongside his sister, Maxine. Steven’s sons Stewart and David are also involved in managing the business and were on site to receive the new crane.
