MILLER UK has announced it has achieved quality certification from a globally renowned steel company.

The manufacturer has joined Swedish steelmaker SSAB’s Hardox In My Body brand programme.

Designed to signify quality and long-term performance of products that include genuine Hardox – described as the world’s ‘leading abrasion-resistant steel wear plate’ – the programme is utilised by hundreds of manufacturers.

As one of the few companies of its kind to be involved in the scheme, Miller revealed that its mining and extreme service buckets, both comprising Hardox 450 in its shell and wear package, will now leave the company’s premises with a Hardox In My Body sticker to demonstrate it has been built with the ‘finest and hardest’ steel.

Conor Thompson, site solutions manager at Miller UK, said, “We are delighted to have been certified on this programme in recognition of the quality of our buckets. Using Hardox has always been very important to Miller as it is the very best abrasion resistant steel in the market ensuring that our buckets are extremely hard wearing for even the toughest of applications.”

Miller added that its buckets with the Hardox In My Body symbol will be used to handle rock, form limestone to granite, basalt and other ‘hostile’ materials.

Steven Haugh, regional sales manager at SSAB, added, “We have been greatly impressed by Miller’s manufacturing processes and its quality processes and we’re thrilled to welcome a company of that calibre to the Hardox in my body programme joining the globe’s very best manufacturers.”
