Growing firm looks to clean up with solar PV battery storage system

LIFOS is set to launch a new solar PV battery storage system designed to help the hire and construction industries transition to a low-carbon future.

The Fort is a new hybrid and renewable energy system which reduces the cost and emissions of using a diesel generator on site.

The product will be unveiled at the Executive Hire Show in Coventry next week. Three models are launching at the show – 12kWh, 23kWh and 35kWh – with further options being released during the year.

LIFOS explained that it comes with 18 solar panels delivering 3.4kw of green power, which can be quickly deployed either by using the fitted solar panel kick stand or an optional container roof mounting kit.

The Fort comes with a five-year warranty, with customers having the option to join the LIFOS seven-year switch programme, providing the opportunity to upgrade critical components after seven years.

LIFOS has designed the LiQ battery management software to remotely control, monitor and report data from the product. Information is provided on aspects including diesel usage, CO2 savings, and solar power generation.

CEO Adrian Williams, who founded LIFOS in 2021, said, “We are very excited about the potential of these new products. The environmental and operational benefits, and the five-year warranty have great appeal but I think the biggest interest from the industry will be focused on the financial upsides and lifetime cost savings associated with new Fort range.

“A major component of this is our new-life, battery cell replacement programme. It will enable hire companies to re-think how they price and finance our products. It will mean a faster deployment of batteries across the industry, helping to reduce diesel usage, reduce carbon and reduce costs.”
