A Motherwell-based skip hire and waste recycling business has hailed the impact two new JCB Hydradigs have brought to the company.
Newtown Waste Solutions purchased the wheeled excavators to work at its waste processing facility, where the firm recycles more than 95% of all the materials brought in.
Supplied by Scot JCB, the Hydradig – with a tailswing of just 120mm – is able to work and slew in confined areas. Four-wheel steer, two-wheel steer, crab steer and reverse steer options have been described as making manoeuvring in the limited space at the site ‘safer and easier’ for operators.
Michael Smith, operations director at Newtown Waste Solutions, explained, “We choose JCB for the reliability, the affordability and the aftersales and back-up support from Scot JCB which is second to none. We have a small yard and the manoeuvrability on the Hydradig is fantastic.
“We use it with a selector grab for processing metal, wood and other segregated waste products and have found it to be a highly efficient tool. The operator feedback is that nothing can touch the JCB Hydradig for power, comfort and performance. It also brings outstanding visibility which is so key in our operation for safety reasons.”
Low flow 60 l/min and high flow 120 l/min auxiliary hydraulic circuits allow the Hydradig to be fitted with a range of attachments, while the 40kph travel speed allows ‘quick and efficient’ transport between sites.
