WELFARE equipment specialist Garic has unveiled a new online tool to help customers reduce their carbon footprint and fuel costs.
The Eco Estimator allows users to calculate the carbon footprint of their site when using an eco version of one of Garic’s products.
Customers can compare either their static or mobile welfare units, input fuel type and project duration, as well as hours per day and the days per week the unit will be used.
Garic provided an example using the firm’s Armadillo mobile welfare unit. The manufacturer explained that if diesel costs £2 per litre, on a project lasting 12 weeks, running the Armadillo for seven hours a day, five days a week would cost £1,428 and produce 1793.8kg of CO₂ emissions.
With the Armadillo Eco, which is solar-powered and backed up by a bespoke 12v super silent generator with auto stop-start functionality, running this unit for the same amount of time would cost just £841.68 and produce 1057.3kg of CO₂ emissions.
In total, this equates to a saving of £586.32 in diesel costs and 736.5kg in CO₂ emissions.
