Lifting specialist launches online training courses

LIFTING specialist GGR Group has announced the launch of new online training courses.

The business has been running training programmes since 1995 and trained thousands of people at facilities in Blantyre, Oldham, and Haddenham.

The initial launch of online training and e-learning focuses on floor cranes and hoists, with more equipment categories such as cladding vacuum lifters and glazing robots to be added in due course.

Graeme Riley, CEO of GGR Group, said, “The business environment is constantly changing. In today’s market, we are faced with new challenges and have seen interruption to business from the effects of Covid and the pandemic; disruption to supply chain and increased costs; and there has been a shift towards doing business in a more sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly way.

“In response to the new challenges in today’s market, we have chosen to innovate and invest in our training provision, not only to ensure that it remains accessible to our learners, but to ensure that we stay in line with market trends and customer demands.”

Terry Cheese, group training manager at GGR Group, added, “We want to add further value to our already excellent training offering, so have developed a range of e-learning courses in response to increased demand for training that can be delivered and accessed remotely, without leaving the office, home or even on location.

“We’ve made significant investment in software and content production and been busy designing numerous eLearning programmes, giving focus to ensure that learners (after successful completion) can be efficient and effective with our equipment, for increased productivity and safety.

“All our programmes have been exclusively designed by us and many are accredited, so you can ensure that all the content is technically correct and directly relevant to the equipment that we supply. We also want people to enjoy the experience of eLearning, to include ease of use and to have fun whilst learning new things. Our eLearning designs include things like; interactive scenarios, hi-res imagery, quizzes and assessments, narration, videos and instructional films, animation and downloadable documents.

“Stored securely on our cutting-edge Learning Management System, our ever-growing portfolio of eLearning is easy to navigate and divided into manageable sections. Learners don’t even have to complete it all in one go, learners can come and go as they please as their progress is saved automatically as they go along. We’ve even ensured that our eLearning is multi-device compatible, so whether learners have a desktop, tablet, or smartphone, they can easily access our online training.”
