First new Bobcat R-Series telehandlers put to work on UK sites

BOBCAT has revealed that the first of the manufacturer’s new R-Series telehandlers have been delivered in the UK.

Three T41.140SLP 14m Stage V telehandlers are included as part of an order by Truelove Property and Construction, based in Lincoln.

With standard tyres fitted, the machine offers a maximum lift capacity of 4.1 tonne, a maximum lift height of 13.65m, and a maximum forward reach of 9.8m.

Truelove Property and Construction is a family-run business which has completed almost 1,000 new homes. The company also has a subsidiary farming business called Happy Days Farming Company.

The new T41.140SLP telehandlers were supplied by AMS Bobcat Ltd. They are in use on developments at Kirton Lindsey and Nettleham in Lincolnshire, where Truelove is building two-storey family homes.

One of the new units is also being used on Worlaby Farm near Brigg, where it is being employed to lift and handle steel components being used to build a new 10,000-tonne grain store.

The new R-Series telehandlers boast a newly configured transmission system, which Bobcat said provides ‘enhanced smoothness’ to carry out the trickiest jobs at height.

An ‘enhanced’ inching pedal design is described as being easier to use and reduces fatigue, while a higher engine brake provides a shorter stop distance. Turtle/rabbit speeds are standard and operated from the joystick. There is also a new DYNAMIC mode for applications requiring rapid transmission response and the new optional hand throttle with FLEX DRIVE function allows for the control of travel speed independent from engine rpm.
