Hitachi offers solution to meet mixed-fleet data demand

HITACHI Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has revealed moves to improve the ‘ease and frequency’ of which machine data and analysis is accessed.

The manufacturer provides a telematics API (application programming interface) for customers with different brands of equipment, who want to view all data in one place. The API allows them to receive information from different OEM remote monitoring systems into a platform of their choice, including existing manufacturer-supplied platforms or an independent fleet management software.

Hitachi added that using the telematics API (AEMP version 1.2 and ISO15143-3 API) gives customers the option to receive data every 10 or 60 minutes, or every 24 hours if they prefer.

The company is also working with ABAX to provide a fleet management system to owners of mixed fleets. The ABAX Smart Connect device-free solution allows customers to monitor the location and operational information of construction equipment, as well as tools, vehicles and other assets with one set of login details.

Yemi Onabiyi, service business support engineer at HCME, explained, “We recognise the growing importance of telematics technology to our customers for monitoring the location and performance of their machinery, and to ensure it is being used as effectively and efficiently as possible. Our remote monitoring solutions have been designed to help customers fully digitalise their business to enhance efficiency, maximise availability and reduce life-cycle costs.”
