Innovation takes centre stage at GGR open day

LIFTING solutions business GGR Group recently welcomed over 300 visitors to its facility in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, to see the company’s latest products and innovations in person.

The event featured the chance to  tour the depot and included keynote addresses from specialists across the cranes and lifting technology sector, alongside an introduction to recent updates from across the GGR range.

GGR unveiled a host of new plant including a new range of articulated crawler cranes (comprising the TMC 25, TMC 25 100% electric and TMC 525). Also on display was a new family of glass vacuum lifters.

GGR used the occasion to announce that the Electric Telehandler – billed as the UK’s first 100% electric telehandler – is now Stage V-compliant.

Other new plant introduced included GRC panel lifters, cladding vacuum lifters, floor cranes, trolleys and transporters, Libro overhang beams, Stage V-compliant mini crawler cranes, and battery powered pick & carry cranes and glazing robots.

GGR also talked guests through the firm’s new green lifting range, which will see diesel powered transport vehicles and plant technology utilise enhanced hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO).

And GGR revealed it has been officially confirmed as the UK retail partner for Italy’s Almac, a manufacturer of tracked carriers.

Spakers at the event included David Borley and Steve Leyton, who discussed the need for standards and safety within the industry; Peter Gibbs, who shared updates from the Construction Plant Association and Crane Interest Group; Keith Silvester, who looked at the benefits of the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (ALLMI); Chris Carter Rowlands, who discussed training and development; and GGR Group’s Janus Britz, who shared the latest developments from across the business.
