Brokk launches ‘world’s most powerful demolition robot’

BROKK has launched what it describes as the world’s largest and most powerful demolition robot.

The new Brokk 900 is said to feature 25% more power than its predecessor and comes in two models: the standard Brokk 900 and the Brokk 900 Rotoboom with a rotating boom system.

Ten years after the introduction of the Brokk 800, the manufacturer is introducing the next generation with this product, designed to meet the ‘extreme requirements’ of the toughest hard rock underground work.

Brokk said the new demolition robot is a ‘big step up’, with the design and engineering of the machine reinforced, power increased, operation more precise, and the new breaker  more powerful. This, the firm added, has been achieved with almost no increase in size or weight.

The standard Brokk 900 comes with the option of two different hydraulic breakers, both of which are more powerful than that on the Brokk 800. The new models also come with the option of electric or diesel powertrain.

Martin Krupicka, CEO of Brokk, said, “All in all, the new Brokk 900 represents what we are known for: more power in a compact and smart package. And that stays true even for our biggest demolition robot.”

Delivery of the new Brokk 900 will start at the end of the second quarter of 2021.
