New Hyundai machine shows its muscles on tight job sites

HYUNDAI’S new HX85A concept machine is now available in the UK and European markets.

The compact excavator in the 8–9t class boasts an optional two-piece boom and is described by the manufacturer as the ‘ideal’ machine to work in urban environments.

The machine’s rear hood design is said to help improve stability and rear visibility. A load sensing system offers operators greater controllability, while a ‘spacious’ cabin brings increased comfort.

Optional features include LED lights, a smart key and start/stop button, and a 4-way angle dozer blade.

Hyundai explained that the 49.9kW Yanmar engine delivers 66.9 hp.

The two-piece boom allows the machine to extend the maximum reach of the arm (7.48m) in addition to working in close proximity to its own tracks. Maximum digging depth is 4.66m.

Hyundai added that although the machine’s upper structure is of conventional type, it benefits from a reduced tail swing with a rear swing radius of just 1.60m.

Peter Sebold, product specialist at HCEE, said, “The new HX85A is perfectly equipped to answer customer demands for a compact and versatile machine that can show its muscles on job sites where space is tight, and performance is key. It is proof that Hyundai CE has finally become an established player in the segment of power utility machines.”
