CPA conference to focus on ‘progress, recovery and rebuilding for the future’

THE Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has announced that the next CPA Conference will be held at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre near Coventry on Wednesday 28th April 2021.

The theme will be around progress, recovery and rebuilding for the future.

The one-day event was originally booked to take place on Thursday 15th October 2020, however, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and uncertainty surrounding mass gatherings, the decision was made to postpone the conference until next spring.

CPA chief executive Kevin Minton said, “We thought long and hard about whether we should postpone the CPA Conference and we decided it was in the best interests of everyone if we moved the event to spring 2021. As the theme of the 2021 event will be about preparing businesses for the future, it will be highly relevant in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

“We hope that CPA members and others in the construction sector will come away from the event with a great deal of knowledge about how they can better equip their businesses to deal with uncertainties and build for the future.”

The 2021 CPA Spring Conference will be the sixth conference to be held. Over the years, it has featured speakers including representatives from HS2, Skanska and Laing O’Rourke.

The 2019 event adopted a new format with a series of panel speakers and the 2021 CPA Conference will follow this model. Former TV presenter and journalist Merryn Myatt, who was convenor in 2019, will once again be convenor for the 2021 event.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to visit exhibition stands. To register interest in exhibiting at the CPA Conference, please contact Lisa Collins on email: lisa@lisacollinscommunications.co.uk
