Temporary works specialist receives BIM certification

MABEY Hire has revealed it has become one of the first companies in its sector to have achieved the BSI Kitemark for BIM.

ISO 19650 Building Information Modelling is the international standard for managing information over the whole life cycle of a built asset using BIM. This includes strategic planning, initial design, engineering development, documentation and construction, and day-to-day operation and maintenance.

Mabey said receiving the certification demonstrates how the company is using the latest technology as standard practice, to design and deliver projects with customers.

Dave Holland, engineering director at Mabey Hire said, “We were amongst the first temporary works specialists to receive BIM Level 2 Certification for Design and Construction and now we are one of the first to achieve the BSI Kitemark for Building Information Modelling. They are both incredible achievements, which we are very proud of at Mabey Hire.

“For our clients, this certification will provide them with confidence that we can hit the ground running on any project, as they will know that our ISO 19650 Building Information Modelling compliant systems will coincide seamlessly with their processes – meaning we can work collaboratively and efficiently with them through their entire workflow.

“Digital engineering has transformed the way all of our teams work and collaborate with customers. By using digital tools and developing industry first techniques, we are helping customers to win business and increase the value of an asset over its life, through reduced capital expenditure, delivery and operational costs.”

Andy Butterfield, MD of built environment at BSI added, “Back in 2016, Mabey Hire was amongst the first organisations in the UK to achieve BSI BIM verification certification. So, it’s a real achievement for this certification to have been upgraded to the BSI Kitemark for BIM to reflect ISO 19650 parts 1 and 2 this year because these international standards, alongside training, are providing forward-thinking organisations like Mabey Hire with the tools to help future-proof their business.”
