SPEEDY has announced the appointment of Andrew Briggs as managing director to lead its powered access business.
Briggs, who joined the tool and equipment hire giant last July as operations director, will be tasked with growing the powered access business and enhancing the firm’s range of products and equipment.
Speedy said the move follows the acquisitions of regional powered access firms Prolift, Platform Sales and Lifterz over the last two years, alongside investment in the company’s range of scissor and boom lifts.
Briggs has almost 20 years of experience in the powered access industry, having joined Nationwide Platforms as a depot manager in 2001 before working his way up into a number of senior roles.
Russell Down, chief executive at Speedy said, “Our customers trust us to deliver and Andy will play an instrumental role in enhancing the range of products and services we offer, to provide our clients with the most comprehensive, one-stop solution for powered access equipment. Andy has been instrumental in the development of our specialist powered access businesses and brings vast market experience, which will enable us to build on the success we’ve achieved.”
Andrew Briggs added, “I’m looking forward to working with the team in leading Speedy’s powered access growth strategy. Through a significant investment programme the business is well placed to meet the growing customer demand for powered access equipment. The Speedy team has a long-standing reputation for putting customers at the heart of everything we do, and the recent acquisitions we have made enable us to add significant experience, expertise and national coverage to our customer offering.”
