MORRIS Leslie is to host a working vintage plant weekend in rural Perthshire later this month.
As a keen collector of classic plant and machinery, he was keen to share his passion with other like-minded enthusiasts and provide an event in Scotland similar to some of those held south of the border.
The weekend, which takes place from September 21-22 at Gracefield Farm in Balbeggie, will be the second such occasion, following last year’s inaugural gathering.
The vintage machines in operation last year included an International TD-18 bulldozer, purchased from the Tom Atherton collection. The machine was working alongside an International TD15C from the same collection.
Spectators also got to see a number of Caterpillar machines in action. David Kerr of D Kerr and Son from Castlecary, North Lanarkshire, brought along a D9G and Caterpillar 463G towed scraper, while Jim Hair, a Caterpillar collector who runs a farming operation with New Holland tractors and classic Caterpillar machines, arrived with his 955 Traxcavator. Other supporters included Chick Kippen and P J Dunbar.
