Mecalac confirms UK roll-out of group’s excavator range

MECALAC Construction Equipment UK has announced the national roll-out of its excavator portfolio.

Seven representatives from the firm’s UK dealer network will be responsible for retailing its models: Balgownie; Kellands Plant Sales; LDH Plant; Versatile Equipment; P.V. Dobsons; Specialist Plant South West; and Murley Construction.

The Mecalac MCR can switch from compact tracked excavator (with a top speed of 10 km/h) to loader (with 360° rotation capability) within seconds. The machine is available in three model variations – 6MCR (0.49m2 bucket capacity), 8MCR (0.53m2 bucket capacity) and 10MCR (0.75m2 bucket capacity). All three units are powered by a 55kW engine.

The Mecalac MWR features a wheeled chassis and is available in four models: the 7MWR, 9MWR, 11MWR and 15MWR. A closed hydrostatic transmission system is utilised on each model, with both two and four-wheel steer (crab option) available.

The Mecalac MTX is a combined excavator, loader, forklift and tool carrier. Equipped with a variable-adjustment boom (with offset), the manufacturer said the articulated undercarriage allows for a ‘low centre of gravity and class-leading stability’, while a 140 tilting angle is said to boost manoeuvrability. The 12MTX comes equipped with Mecalac’s CONNECT quick coupler.

Gregg Horne, general manager at Mecalac Construction Equipment UK said, “Introducing Groupe Mecalac’s excavator range to the UK market comes as part of a long-term corporate strategy to meet changing sector requirements and provide innovative solutions to support operators nationwide. Each model is proven, flexible and designed to perform perfectly in challenging urban environments. We’re confident that the range will be well-received by professionals across the country, who recognise the benefits of embracing innovation to minimise job time and improve performance.”
