Hyundai debutants are A-ok at bauma 2019

HX220A L

HYUNDAI Construction Equipment Europe has introduced its first A-series excavators and wheel loaders at bauma 2019.

The manufacturer said the 22-ton HX220A L and the 30-ton HX300A L crawler excavators will ‘pave the ground’ for its smaller and larger siblings.

The HX220A L features EPFC (Electric Positive Flow Control), which Hyundai said results in improved fuel efficiency and controllability by a flow reduction technique for excavator operations. There’s also an auto safety lock, Eco guidance (to indicate inefficient operator status to prevent fuel consumption by improper working habits), and MG/MC (Machine Guidance/Control) which indicates the work status and automatically controls the attachment to assist the driver.

The HX300A L contains many of the same features but boasts a different system when it comes to flow control, called EPIC (Electric Pump Independent Control). This is said to reduce the pump flow rate during levelling and truck loading operation by controlling the pump’s displacement individually.

Hyundai is also showcasing its new 19-ton HL960A wheel loader at bauma 2019 for the first time. Powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 Stage V engine, delivering 225 hp, the model will be available to the market shortly after the Munich exhibition. An intelligent work mode optimises the engine performance to increase engine torque at a lower rpm, while the cab features an electro-hydraulic joystick to control all functions of the front-loading arm. The machine can also be equipped with a second advanced steering lever enabling driving the machine by joystick if requested.

The Hyundai A-series wheel loaders are equipped with a rear-view camera as standard. An advanced 4-camera system is available as an option. Hyundai also offers a reverse drive radar system, similar to that of a car.
