AERIAL work platform manufacturer Genie has launched a new ‘micro-sized’ electric scissor lift – the Genie GS-1330m.
The new lift has been launched in response to “worldwide demand” for productive, eco-friendly, low-level access solutions, adapted to space and weight-restricted applications, the manufacturer said.
The GS-1330m provides a maximum working height of 5.9m and a 227kg lift capacity, with a machine weight 885kg, and incorporates the Genie Smart Link control system.
With a length of 1.4m and a width of 0.78m, the GS-1330m is described as the “perfect fit” for low floor load and zero emissions applications, such as in hotels, supermarkets, theatres, gymnasiums and institutional jobsites. It also features solid non-marking 25cm tyres and a ground clearance of 6cm.
The lift is powered by a DC E-drive system, which Genie said offers longer battery life, low maintenance and an “industry-leading” run time on a single battery charge.
It is equipped with side-by-side platform guardrails for a 0.46m deck extension offering an extended platform length of 1.72m, and features diamond plate platform flooring. The link stack is centred under the platform, which is described as offering a stable feel for optimal comfort while working at height.
Zach Gilmor, EMEAR Genie product manager, Terex AWP explained, “With the need to replace ladders with safe, productive and environment-friendly alternatives, low-level access is an activity sector that is growing in general, notably for industrial and institutional jobsite applications.
“Furthermore, rising demand for efficient solutions adapted to the constraints of low floor load and zero emissions sites implies the need for equipment that is sufficiently lightweight and respectful of the constraints of indoor jobsites.
“Responding to the needs of customers working in today’s increasingly competitive, ‘green’ aerial access market, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift combines an efficient 100% electric drive system with the benefits of quiet, emission-free operation and industry-leading runtime in a compact package for productive, all day long performance. This increased runtime is especially important in applications that involve significant amounts of driving.”
