New Mecalac cabbed dumpers go into production

MECALAC Construction Equipment UK has announced production is underway of its new MDX cabbed site dumper range.

Manufactured at Mecalac’s Coventry site, the models are available in both six and nine-tonne payloads. The manufacturer said a curved glass isolated cab, inspired by the Mecalac MWR wheeled excavator, provides “outstanding visibility” while minimising noise and vibration.

The 6MDX boasts an operating weight of 4,950kg and a top speed of 25kph. The 9MDX is said to offer “similarly impressive statistics”, with a narrow body width for operation in tight spaces and tall operating height for “best-in-class” visibility and ground clearance.

Both models are powered by a 3.4L Perkins 854 IIIB-compliant engine, generating 424Nm of torque. DPF exhaust after-treatment ensures they meet emissions standards. For operator comfort, “easy-access” controls, optional air conditioning and a new dashboard design have been included.

Other features include high-visibility access steps, flashing green seatbelt beacons, LED work lights and protected tail lights.

Each MDX model is fitted as standard with Mecalac’s Shield technology packs for enhanced safety.
