HYUNDAI Construction Equipment Europe (HCEE) has announced the appointment of Jongho Chun as managing director. The former head of marketing divisions at HCE’s Korean headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, brings to the role broad experience in finance, marketing and sales strategy.
Chun’s role is to prepare HCEE for its future, the manufacturer said. The first major implementation is the split of its European business into two independent divisions – Construction Equipment and Material Handling. The separation is intended to allow each division to focus more on their different customer type, different business models and product needs in a more independent way.
Commenting on his new role, Chun said, “In 2019 we want to continue to excel in what we do. This year we continue focusing on growing our market share in a profitable way.
“We are continuously expanding and improving our European dealer network, invest in our product line-up and R&D, commit to invest in the employees in our organisation, earn our spot with the key accounts and continuously investigate partnerships and acquisitions. We will embrace the future together.”
Meanwhile, HCEE has also outlined its plans for Bauma 2019, which takes place in Munich on April 8-14.
The manufacturer will have a 2,705 m² stand located in the open-air area, where it will be showcasing a range of machines including the new 90-tonne HX900 L crawler excavator.
Other new kit on show is set to include the HX10 A mini-excavator; HX85A CR (Stage V) compact excavator; HX220A L (Stage V) crawler excavator; and HL960A (Stage V) wheel loader.
The company said it is bringing a number of new technology and service advancements to Bauma 2019, which will address “key” topics such as fuel efficiency, productivity, safety, convenience, improved uptime and detailed machine management.
