LIEBHERR has officially opened a new €30 million development and demonstration centre at the manufacturer’s factory in Kirchdorf, Germany.
The centre will be used to develop and test new construction and material handling machines, including ones built for the UK market. The 12.7 hectares site features a testing hall, demonstration area and 1.2km test track where Liebherr said operational environments can be simulated and machines put through their paces under the “most challenging” conditions.
Liebherr GB managing director Lee Palmer said, “This investment demonstrates Liebherr’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of the UK and global material handler and construction machine markets. It’s great news for our customers who will benefit from the innovation that this centre will enable us to bring to life and the continued improvements in the reliability, efficiency and operational performance of our machines.”
