LIEBHERR has reported its highest ever turnover for 2017 with total sales amounting to €9,845 million – an increase of 9.3%. Net profit was €331 million (an increase of 11.1%), with the manufacturer saying it expects further sales growth for 2018.
Sales of construction machinery and mining equipment rose by 14.5% to €6,182 million.
Liebherr highlighted that in western Europe, turnover increased “significantly”, with particularly strong growth in Germany and France.
The group described sales performance in eastern Europe, especially Russia, as “encouraging”, while in the Far East, Australia and America, revenues were also up on the previous year’s figures. Falls were recorded in the Near East, Middle East and Africa.
Employee figures increased over the year, with a total of 1,561 new jobs being created. The Liebherr Group had 43,869 employees around the world at the year’s end.
