MARUBENI-Komatsu made a welcome return to ScotPlant two years ago following a 14-year absence – and the manufacturing giant is back again this time round with some of its leading machines.
New for 2018, the PC80MR-5 midi excavator will take pride of place in Ingliston. The machine features an integrated counterweight and tight tail swing radius, a swing boom that “hugs” the machine and operating weights ranging from 8,000 to 8,240kg.
The excavator has been described by Marubeni-Komatsu as being “ideal” for work in confined areas and urban environments.
New Features and benefits are said to include:
• Newly designed cab and interior for increased operator comfort and a modern image
• Newly developed hydraulic electronic controls to deliver optimal performance and low fuel consumption whatever the job.
• Selectable working modes – A concept from higher class excavators
• High‐resolution multi‐functional 3.5″ LCD colour monitor panel
• Maintenance information displayed on the monitor
• New hinged door design
• Engine shut down secondary switch for added safety and peace of mind
• Seat belt caution indicator
• KOMTRAX telematics
Another highlight on the stand will be the D51PXi-24 crawler dozer. Launched last year, this model comes equipped with a full factory installed 3D GNSS machine control system.
The machine control system is said to allow automated operation from heavy dozing to fine grading. It senses and controls the blade load to optimise the start of the cut and minimise track slip.
The WA470-8 wheel loader will also be in attendance at ScotPlant, boasting an EU Stage IV engine and fuel consumption described as being up to 8 % lower than for the WA470-7.
Built on the benefits of its predecessor, the machine is said to offer an “outstanding combination of stability, breakout power and tractive effort to customers and is perfect for any moving, transport or loading job”.
The WA470-8 was showcased at bauma 2016, with a new auto-digging mode, E-light work mode and Komatsu’s redesigned digging bucket.
The Komatsu PC210LCi-11 will also be displayed. The machine, which was introduced to the market last year, integrates the benefits of the standard PC210LC-11 excavator but with the extra advantage of Komatsu’s intelligent Machine Control technology.
The machines is available with the Komatsu tilt bucket, which allows users to change the bucket angle in real time to match the design surface during Semi‐Auto function.
The bucket uses integrated stroke sensing tilt cylinders to determine accurate positioning.
