JCB has confirmed the newly launched X Series 20-tonne tracked excavators are heading to ScotPlant 2018.
Scot JCB will show two of the new 220X crawler excavators – the first models in the range – across its stands and demonstration area. JCB said the machines feature a 15% larger cab with integral ROPS structure, reduced noise levels, simple user interface and stronger side doors for greater strength and increased protection. They also have a central main boom mounting for “increased digging accuracy and durability”, and a 200mm wider upper structure, which the manufacturer said delivers improved packaging.
Joining the new X Series machines will be JCB’s next generation mini excavators and the hugely successful Hydradig 110W, which made its Scottish debut at ScotPlant 2016.
Meanwhile, the 7T-1 HiViz site dumper and JCB Access electric scissor lifts will be shown by Stewart Plant Sales.
Making its ScotPlant debut will be the JCB 19C-1 – a 1.8-tonne conventional tailswing mini excavator that has been designed for contractors looking for the “ultimate performance” in a sub two-tonne compact model.
Key features of the new range include: 100% steel bodywork, improved protection for all hydraulic rams and hoses, improved access for maintenance and daily checks and 500-hour greasing intervals reduce regular downtime.
Other JCB machines on display in Ingliston will include the JZ141 rental specification 14-tonne tracked excavator, 3CX and 3CX compact backhoe loaders, Loadall telehandlers, generators, skid steer loaders and wheeled loading shovels.
Stewart Plant Sales will showcase the new range of JCB site dumpers, boasting capacities spanning from one to nine-tonnes.
JCB described its new dumper line-up as taking site dumper safety to “previously unachievable levels”. Features include a two-year warranty and all-steel construction, compliance with the latest safety legislation and the availability of the JCB SiTESAFE cab, with reinforced frame and impact protection, on 6-9 tonne models.
Of particular importance has been the launch of a high visibility seven-tonne model. The JCB 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz model was introduced in response to safety concerns around issues of visibility, stability and operator protection. By using a low-slung chassis design and revised skip, JCB explained that the the operator benefits from “huge improvements” in front visibility.
“Compared to a conventional six-tonne dumper when laden, the 7T-1 Hi-Viz model offers a 77% improvement,” JCB stated.
Stewart Plant Sales is also responsible for the sales and service support for the JCB Access range which includes nine electric scissor lifts.
Also on the Stewart Plant Sales stand will be Atlas Copco portable air compressors and tools, Norton Clipper concrete and stone-cutting machinery, Western Global fuel, water and oil bowsers and tanks and Obart surface and submersible pumps.
Further JCB kit will include JCB compaction equipment models such as the JCB VM137 self-propelled soil compactor and the JCB range of tandem vibratory rollers including VMT 160-80 and VMT260-120 models. These will be joined by the HTD5 high tip dumpster and a series of JCB handheld breakers and compaction plates.
