PLANTWORX is moving to the new location of the East of England Arena and Events Centre (EEAEC), Peterborough, in 2019.
The biennial trade event has been held at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, near Lutterworth, for the past two editions of the show. Around 13,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors attended last year’s exhibition, which was “blighted” by wet weather.
The East of England venue has hosted other machine events including LAMMA and Truckfest.
The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) said Plantworx directors conducted an “extensive search” for a new venue based on criteria set on the basis of exhibitor feedback. These included good road and rail links, easy access and improved on site services.
CEA chief executive Rob Oliver said, “The last Plantworx show was blighted by the weather, so we were looking for somewhere that would provide a good opportunity for a better exhibitor and visitor experience whatever the weather.
“Inside exhibitors can be accommodated in the purpose-built arena and outside there are more permanent roadways and facilities for visitors. Good mobile phone and wi fi facilities are also part of the package – plus it is just five minutes from the A1. We took our time making the selection, but we are confident that we have found the best solution and we have an option for at least two further events at East of England Arena.”
The next Plantworx show will be held from June 11-13, 2019.
Plantworx sales manager Angela Spink added, “I am excited by the potential of the new venue. We will be working with exhibitors, via our consultation groups, to test our site layout ideas and making sure we can deliver a top-notch event on behalf of our industry.”
EEAEC business development manager Dean Rees said, ““The length of this contract allows us to make sure that Plantworx can develop the show to its full potential and capitalise upon the many features and benefits we have to offer here at the East of England Arena. We are thrilled that we will have the opportunity of hosting this amazing event until 2023.”
