A-Plant Accommodation is investing over £1.4 million on 68 static welfare units from Genquip Groundhog – some of which were used as polling stations during the election.
The order comprises 20ft, 25ft and 32ft units. The largest units are new to the A-Plant range and can accommodate 12 people. They boast a canteen, office, drying and toilet facilities.
The order also includes a number of eco-friendly units, which are said to provide energy efficient site accommodation and have features including full flush toilets, double glazing, extra insulation and reduced carbon dioxide emissions through reduced usage of the on board generator.
Ian Needham, A-Plant’s director of accommodation said, “There is huge demand for the new units and we have met very tight deadlines to ensure that a number of them are ready and in place for the elections. Over the last three years, we have invested over £6 million with Genquip Groundhog and this latest tranche of investment confirms that A-Plant Accommodation has one of the most modern national fleets of temporary accommodation across the hire industry, with the broadest spread of units comprising static, mobile and environmentally friendly units.”
