SANY excavators smash into Scottish demolition sector

SANY excavators are set to enter the Scottish demolition sector after a long-standing asbestos removal and demolition contractor snapped up a 22 tonne machine.

Chamic Industrial Services has been operating across Scotland for over 30 years. The new machine was supplied to the firm by TDL Equipment, SANY’s UK dealer. TDL said SANY machines are already “well proven” in the demolition market in their native China.

The SANY SY215C has been equipped with demolition specifications including heavy duty cab guards and undercarriage protection plates, both of which were custom designed and fitted by Glasgow-based Walkerweld.

A Prodem PSG 11201-D 800 litre sorting grab was supplied by TDL prior to delivery to Chamic’s Edinburgh HQ.

Tony Thorpe, sales director SANY Europe said, “SANY are by far the number one excavator in China. The Chinese market is one of the toughest testing grounds in the world and these machines are designed and built to work in seriously extreme conditions which make them perfect for the demolition sector.”

Michael Hunter, demolition manager at Chamic Industrial Services Limited added, “We were seeing more of the SANY excavators appearing in the market and we were already aware of the excellent support offered by TDL. A trial demonstration gave us the confidence that the machine was up for the challenge.”
