AB2000 recognised for soaring profits

AB2000 founder and managing director Adam Bruce

AB2000 is one of just eight Scottish headquartered companies to feature in the annual Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 league table.

The table ranks Britain’s private businesses with the fastest growing profits over a three-year period.

The Cambuslang-based hire firm saw profits soar by 74% to £4.1 million in the company’s results for 2016.

Managing director Adam Bruce recently told Project Plant the firm has an annual budget of £11 million for new plant. The business, which also has depots in Aberdeen and Nairn, has expanded in recent years to include crane and concrete pump hire in addition to construction and railway plant.

A spokesman for AB2000 said, “We were very pleased to be recognised in the Profit Track report and are satisfied with the results the company is continuing to achieve in a difficult market.”

A second Scottish-based plant hire business – Morris Leslie in Perth – also features on the list at number 98 following annual profit growth of 57% over three years.
